We are based in Western Australia and offer shipping across Australia, selected international destinations, and local collection. We also provide a range of beekeeping services, including beehive installation, beekeeping education, training and practical demonstrations.
This Shipping & Collection Policy explains how we process, dispatch and deliver orders and how customers can collect products or arrange services with us.
1. Order Processing and Dispatch
We aim to process and dispatch orders within 3–7 business days after payment has been received and cleared.
Some products may require additional preparation, handling or special delivery arrangements. This may apply particularly to:
- Live bees and other live products
- Large or bulky beehives and equipment
- Heavy machinery or equipment
- Products requiring specialised freight
- Custom or specially prepared orders
Where additional processing time is required, we will endeavour to advise you as soon as reasonably practicable.
The dispatch timeframe does not include the time taken by the delivery carrier to transport the order to you.
2. Australian-Wide Shipping
Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping Community offers shipping to customers throughout Australia, subject to product-specific restrictions and applicable laws and regulations.
Shipping costs may vary depending on:
- Delivery location
- Size and weight of the order
- Number of parcels
- Type of product
- Freight or courier service selected
- Whether specialised transport is required
Where applicable, shipping costs will be displayed at checkout or communicated to the customer before dispatch.
Delivery timeframes provided by us or our delivery providers are estimates only. Delivery may take longer during busy periods, public holidays, severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, courier disruptions or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
3. International Shipping
Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping
may offer international shipping to selected countries.
International orders may be subject to additional shipping charges, customs requirements, import restrictions, quarantine or biosecurity requirements, duties, taxes, permits and other requirements imposed by the destination country.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that products ordered can legally be imported into their destination country and for complying with any applicable customs, quarantine, biosecurity and import requirements.
Any customs duties, taxes, import fees, clearance charges or other costs imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise expressly stated by Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping.
Due to the nature of certain products, some items may not be available for international shipment. This may include live bees, biological products, certain bee products, liquids, chemicals, equipment or other restricted goods.
If an international order cannot legally or practically be shipped to the nominated destination, we will contact the customer to discuss the available options.
4. Live Bees and Live Products
Live bees require special handling and transportation arrangements.
Availability of live bees for delivery or collection may depend on:
- Weather conditions
- Seasonal conditions
- Colony health
- Transport requirements
- Biosecurity requirements
- Destination restrictions
- Availability of suitable colonies or packages
- Applicable Australian and state or territory regulations
We may delay, reschedule or cancel the dispatch of live bees where we reasonably consider that transportation conditions are unsuitable or where required by applicable regulations.
Customers purchasing live bees are responsible for ensuring that they are legally permitted to keep bees at their intended location and comply with all applicable registration, biosecurity, council and beekeeping requirements.
For live bee orders, we may contact the customer to arrange an appropriate dispatch or collection date.
Important
Live bees are living organisms and their condition can be affected by weather, transport, handling and other factors outside our control.
Customers should ensure they are properly prepared to receive and care for live bees immediately upon delivery or collection.
5. Biosecurity and Product Restrictions
Western Australia has specific biosecurity requirements, and the movement of bees, bee products and other potentially biosecurity-sensitive materials may be subject to restrictions.
Certain products may therefore have different shipping or collection requirements depending on the destination.
Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping reserves the right to restrict, delay or decline the shipment of products where required by applicable biosecurity, quarantine, transport or other legal requirements.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate destination information and complying with applicable requirements in their state, territory or country.
6. Large, Bulky and Heavy Equipment
Beehives, hive boxes, frames, machinery and other large or heavy equipment may require specialised freight arrangements.
The standard shipping rate displayed at checkout may not apply to particularly large, heavy or unusual orders.
Where additional freight charges apply, we may contact the customer before dispatch to confirm the applicable charges and delivery arrangements.
Customers requiring delivery of large quantities of equipment are encouraged to contact Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping before placing an order so that freight options can be discussed.
7. Delivery Address
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Please carefully check your delivery details before submitting your order.
If an incorrect or incomplete address is provided, this may result in delivery delays, additional freight charges or the return of the order to Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping
If you realise that your delivery details are incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to assist, but we cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once an order has been dispatched.
8. Delivery and Authority to Leave
Depending on the delivery service available, customers may be able to provide authority for a parcel to be left at the delivery address without a signature.
Customers who provide authority to leave should ensure that the nominated location is secure and suitable for receiving deliveries.
Where a delivery has been made in accordance with the customer’s delivery instructions, customers should contact the delivery provider promptly if the parcel cannot be located.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit any rights you may have under applicable Australian Consumer Law.
9. Damaged, Missing or Incorrect Orders
Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably practicable after delivery.
If an order arrives damaged, appears to have been tampered with, contains incorrect products or has missing items, please contact us as soon as possible.
Please provide:
- Your order number
- A description of the problem
- Photographs of the product and packaging where appropriate
- Any relevant delivery or freight information
Where possible, please retain the original packaging until we have assessed the matter, as it may be required for a freight claim or investigation.
Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping will assess the issue and work with the customer to determine an appropriate resolution in accordance with applicable Australian Consumer Law and any other applicable requirements.
10. Local Pickup / Collection
Customers may choose local collection where this option is available.
Collection is from our nominated location in Western Australia and is available by prior arrangement.
Customers will receive confirmation when their order is ready for collection.
Please do not attend for collection until you have received confirmation that your order is ready.
11. Collection of Live Bees
Customers collecting live bees must follow the agreed collection date and time.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate transport, protective equipment and suitable arrangements for safely transporting and caring for the bees after collection.
Where weather, safety, biosecurity or other circumstances make collection unsuitable, Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping may arrange an alternative collection date.
12. Uncollected Orders
Customers are responsible for collecting their orders within the agreed or specified collection timeframe indicated while receiving notification that the order is ready for collection.
Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping is not responsible for any deterioration, spoilage, damage, loss, theft or other adverse outcome arising from an order not being collected within the agreed timeframe, where such outcome occurs after the customer has been notified that the order is ready for collection.
For live bees and other live or time-sensitive products, customers acknowledge that delayed collection may adversely affect the health or condition of the bees or products. Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping will not be responsible for the deterioration, weakening or death of live bees resulting from a customer’s failure to collect them within the agreed timeframe, to the extent permitted by law.

18. Bee Stings, Allergic Reactions and Personal Safety
Beekeeping involves working with live bees and carries inherent risks, including bee stings and allergic reactions. Customers, beekeepers, trainees, students and other participants must understand and accept the inherent risks associated with handling or being in proximity to bees.
Nisendo Honey & Beekeeping does not accept responsibility for allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, bee stings or other adverse reactions resulting from contact with or exposure to bees.
It is the responsibility of each beekeeper, customer and participant to assess their own suitability for working with or being around bees and to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves and others.
